v0.1.4-beta

SRTC

Space Radiation Transport Code

SRTC computes how the space radiation environment reaches the inside of a spacecraft — dose, particle spectra, and displacement damage behind real shielding geometry. It couples forward and adjoint Monte Carlo transport in one tool, and ships with a browser workflow GUI so a shielding study is a few clicks rather than a scripting project.

Download How it works

Runs on macOS and Linux. Docker is required — SRTC ships as container images, so install Docker Desktop (macOS) or Docker Engine (Linux) first.

What it does

Point it at an environment and a geometry, and it tells you what the parts inside actually see.

Dose behind shielding

Total and per-species dose at a detector, from trapped protons and electrons, GCR heavy ions, or a spectrum you supply.

Transmitted spectra

Differential particle spectra versus depth — the input a single-event-effects or charging analysis needs, not just a scalar dose.

Displacement damage

NIEL-based TNID for any material, including the nuclear term, for solar cells and sensitive semiconductors.

Real CAD geometry

MCNP-subset constructive solid geometry, or import a STEP assembly straight from your mechanical model.

Adjoint transport

Score dose at one small detector without wasting histories on the rest of the spacecraft — the reverse-direction solve that makes deep shielding tractable.

Browser workflow

Build geometry, plot source spectra, launch runs, and view particle tracks in a local web GUI. A Results tab keeps every run, with its inputs and outputs linked. Nothing leaves your machine.

Who it's for

Spacecraft radiation and mission-assurance engineers sizing shielding; parts and reliability engineers converting an orbit into TID and TNID numbers; and researchers who want a transport code they can drive end-to-end and inspect, rather than a black-box web form.

SRTC is validated against NASA OLTARIS, Shield2Dose, Geant4, and PHITS — with the measured agreement, and the places it currently disagrees, written down on the physics page.

Running it

One download, one command. SRTC ships as a self-contained container bundle, so there is no toolchain to install and no nuclear-data libraries to fetch.

tar xzf srtc-v0.1.4-beta-arm64.tar.gz
./srtc-v0.1.4-beta-arm64/install.sh
# → http://localhost:8080

Docker is the only prerequisite. Builds are available for x86-64 and ARM64, and run on both Linux and macOS. See Downloads.

This is a beta. The physics is benchmarked against established codes and the agreement is published in full, including known deviations — read the validation status before using results for flight-hardware decisions.
